Well when the storm ended the chase was on for the 2014 Track Champion in MOD, and Junior.
Top ET and Street had been decided but other titles needed to be handed out.
In the first Mod final we would have Darren "The Freak" McChesney taking on "Big Slick" Willis
Lefrenier.Big slick would be your chase car with a 6.47 dial to Darrens 6.55. Darren would be a
touch off of the tree as he had been drilling it all day long would go a .0302 reaction time to
big with the starting line advantage with a .0124. Darren would not be able to hold off the
firebird of big as darren would run a 6.5653 at 102.64mph with big taking the win light
running dead on with a "9" at 104.43
In the second final we had two very tough drivers. We would see Dale "Possum" Mardlin
taking on the very tough Roy "The Saint" St. Dennis. Saint in the blackbird would go to
battle as him and Dale would help in the points chase. Dale would knock off 2nd in points
Gary Williams to hand over the 2014 Crown to Mark Pressey. Then Roy would turn around
and knock of Mark to put him on the trailer with a smile and the crown. It would be
Mark's first Track Championship in 20 years. Back to the action we as the blackbird would
be dialed a 6.26 to the quick 5.69. The bad to the bone blackbird would come through
again with a starting line advantage .0197 to Dale's .0393. Dale the quicker of the two
would take the lose running a 5.7075 at 120.45 as the Saint would
run a 6.2874 winner picker.
In the street class we would have Leon Vick taking on the very tough Jake Winter.
Both a pair of pickup trucks would running bear as Jake would be doing the chasing
dialed a 7.50 to Leon's 8.00. Leon would be a tardy on the tree as Jake jumped all over
it and picking up the win light while jumping on the breaks. In the second final we had
Jake MCConnell taking on RJ Melnik. RJ on the sled would be doing the chasing with a
7.50 dial to Jake 8.28. Starting line advantage would go to Jake with a .099 reaction
time howver would let RJ back in at the big end running a 7.6223 at 86.85 MPH.
Jake would take the lose in stride running a 8.317 at 76.16 MPH
In the Junior Dragster final Hunter Talaski need some help from the half scale cars
to try and become a 4 peat Junior Dragster Points champion. Here is the action.
Austin "Coil" Willaims would take on new driver Daniel Horetski aka The Boy.Daniel
would be a little tardy on the tree as he would set up with a 12.26 dial to the
quicker Williams. Williams would have the starting line advantage and carry it down
to the stripe and stuff the breaks picking up the winner picker. Before the last
final it would done as Austin "Coil" Williams would pick up the 2014 Junior Dragster
Championship but in the second final we would have Hunter Talaski taking on
Daniel Horetski for the second time. Would it be the charm for the rookie no it
would not as Talaski with the quicker of the two would have the starting line
advantage with a .0702 to Horetski.2941. Horetski would run off the dial with a
12.8997 on a 12.62 taking the lose but his second runner up of the weekend.
Talaski would pick up the win light running a 9.6495 on a 9.46.
